Structured weekly coaching sessions that teach the basketball fundamentals, step-by-step. Ideal for beginners through to intermediate.
This session will teach your child how to correctly dribble (with both hands), while introducing the basic stances, offensive and defensive footwork, balance, co-ordination and spatial awareness necessary to progress up the skills ladder within the sport.
You will also learn how to correctly pass the ball and taught correct techniques across the primary passes used in all basketball gameplay. You'll be introduced to correct shooting techniques (both stationary and in movement) so your child understands how to correctly shoot the basketball for optimum success.
Towards the end of the term, coaches begin to focus on integrating newly acquired skills into competitive game play.
At the end of the term, your child's progress will be assessed during a grading session where they can earn either a 1 or 2 Star Award, ready for progression upwards the the following term.
5th January - 30th March 2023
This class takes place on Thursdays and is for the Winter Term, which begins on the 5th January and ends on 30th March 2023.
