Thank you for booking your child onto the LSB Brent Summer Basketball Camp. Everything you need to prepare for camp can be found on this page.

Your child is booked only for the date or dates shown in your original booking confirmation. Please retain that email for your individual booking record.

Please read this page before your child’s first day

The school site will not be accessible before 9:00am. Registration will take place at the main entrance to Ark Elvin Academy from 9:00am, so please allow approximately 10–15 minutes to complete registration and hand your child over to the camp team.

Before You Attend

Three Things To Do

Prepare these three essentials before leaving home so that registration is smooth and your child is ready to enjoy a full day of basketball.

Prepare Water & A Light Lunch

Pack a clearly labelled water bottle and a suitable light lunch. Players will be active throughout the day and will have scheduled breaks to eat, drink and recharge.

Prepare Their Kit

Pack suitable sportswear, supportive trainers, a labelled basketball where available, and any essential medication your child may require.

Plan Your Journey

There is no access to the school site before 9:00am. Please allow 10–15 minutes from 9:00am for registration and drop-off with staff at the main entrance to Ark Elvin Academy. On-site parking is available for camp families; enter from Cecil Avenue and follow the venue signage and staff directions on arrival.

Brent Venue Information

The camp will operate at Ark Elvin Academy in Wembley. All participants should enter from Cecil Avenue and report to the LSB team at the main school entrance for registration.

Camp sessions will take place in the indoor basketball facilities at Ark Elvin Academy. The venue is in central Wembley and is well served by local bus, Underground, Overground and National Rail connections.

Registration: Ark Elvin Main Entrance

Enter the site from Cecil Avenue and follow the signs to the main school entrance. LSB staff will be visible at the designated check-in point to welcome you, register your child and direct players to the correct court and coaching group.

  • LSB staff will welcome families and direct players from the registration point.
  • On-site parking is available for families attending Brent Camp.

  • Wembley Central and Wembley Stadium stations are both within walking distance, with several local bus routes serving the area.
  • Toilets, changing facilities and drinking-water facilities are available on site.

Camp Checklist

What Your Child Should Bring

Please pack all items in a suitable sports bag and clearly label personal belongings wherever possible.

Suitable Sports Clothing

Shorts or tracksuit bottoms with a comfortable T-shirt or sports top. Players will get warm and should dress for active indoor exercise.

Indoor Sports Trainers

Basketball trainers are ideal, but other supportive sports trainers with secure laces and good non-slip grip are acceptable.

Labelled Water Bottle

Players will have regular hydration breaks throughout the day. Please send sufficient water for an active five-hour camp day.

Light Packed Lunch

Please provide a suitable light lunch. Food and drink should be securely packed and clearly labelled with your child’s name.

A Labelled Basketball

Players are encouraged to bring their own basketball for individual skills work. A limited reserve supply will be available where required.

Required Medication

Any inhaler, EpiPen or other essential medication must be clearly labelled. Please explain the relevant requirements to staff during registration.

Please do not bring valuables. LSB cannot accept responsibility for avoidable loss or damage to phones, jewellery, electronic devices or other unnecessary personal items brought to camp.

A Typical Day At Brent Camp

The precise programme may change to reflect coaching priorities, participant numbers and ability groups, but each day will follow this general structure.

Registration And Drop-Off

The school site opens to camp families at 9:00am. Enter Ark Elvin Academy from Cecil Avenue and report to the LSB team at the main school entrance. Staff will welcome and register your child. Please allow approximately 10–15 minutes.

Welcome And Dynamic Warm-Up

Coach introductions, ice-breakers, mobility, movement preparation and fun ball-handling activities.

Skills Teaching Stations

Players work in age and ability-appropriate groups on ball-handling, passing, shooting, finishing, footwork and defensive fundamentals.

Competitions And Challenges

Skill tests, team challenges and small-sided games designed to reinforce the techniques taught during coaching stations.

Light Lunch And Rehydration Break

Players take a structured break to eat their light packed lunch, rehydrate and prepare for the afternoon gameplay programme.

Structured 3-on-3 and 5-on-5 games give players the opportunity to apply their skills through teamwork, decision-making and competition.

Recap, Recognition And Collection

Coaches review the day’s learning, recognise effort and sportsmanship, and prepare players for sign-out at 2:00pm.

Safe, Structured And Inclusive

Every player should feel supported, appropriately challenged and included throughout the camp experience.

Age And Ability Groups

The Brent camp is for children aged 7–16. Players do not need previous basketball experience to attend. Coaches assess players during the opening activities and organise suitable working groups.

  • Beginners with limited experience or no previous formal coaching
  • Developing players with some previous playing or coaching experience
  • More experienced players who train or compete regularly
  • Groupings may change as coaches learn more about each player

Sign-In And Collection

Participants must be properly registered on arrival and signed out at the end of their booked session.

  • There is no access to the school site before 9:00am

  • Allow approximately 10–15 minutes for registration and drop-off
  • Collection takes place promptly at 2:00pm
  • Advise the team in writing if alternative collection arrangements are required
  • Ensure the camp team holds accurate emergency contact details

Medical And Additional Needs

Please ensure that all medical information, allergies, additional needs and emergency contacts supplied during booking remain accurate.

  • Do not send your child to camp while contagious or unwell
  • Inform the camp team of any recent injury that may affect participation
  • Clearly label inhalers, EpiPens and other required medication
  • Contact us in advance regarding significant additional support needs

Where should I go for registration?

Which venue will the Brent camp use?

Can complete beginners attend the camp?

Yes. The Brent camp welcomes beginners, developing players and more experienced players. Coaches organise participants into appropriate age and ability groups so each child can learn at a suitable pace.

Does my child have to attend all five days?

Your child should attend only the date or dates shown in your original booking confirmation. Full-week and selected-day bookings are both supported where purchased through the booking system.

Does my child need to bring a basketball?

Bringing a basketball is strongly encouraged because it helps players participate fully in individual skills activities. Please label the ball clearly. A limited number of reserve basketballs will be available for children who do not have one.

What food should my child bring?

Please provide a light packed lunch and sufficient water for the day. Food and drink should be securely packed and clearly labelled. Parents are responsible for ensuring that all food is suitable for their child’s dietary and allergy requirements.

Is there parking at the school?

Yes. On-site parking is available for families attending Brent Camp. Enter from Cecil Avenue and follow the venue signage and staff directions to the designated parking area.

What happens if I am late collecting my child?

LSB camps do not provide wraparound childcare. Parents and guardians should plan to collect promptly at 2:00pm.

Late fees contribute towards additional staffing and facility costs where the booking is required to continue beyond the scheduled hire period.

What should I do if my child cannot attend?

Please email camps@london-basketball.com as soon as possible. Cancellations, missed days, credits and refunds are governed by the LSB Coaching Services Terms and Conditions.

Will photographs or videos be taken?

LSB may capture appropriate photographs or video footage for coaching, educational or promotional purposes. Parents who do not want their child included should notify LSB in writing before camp begins.
