In just their first full season of AoC competition, the COHENEL Warrior women’s team completed all league games with a perfect record with 5 wins and zero losses, establishing the girl’s academy as a force to be reckoned with across London colleges and sixth forms who provide competitive girl’s basketball.
Shaianne Knight, Imam Roomes, Courtney Foster and Jennifer Sonde led the Warriors attack throughout the campaign and were all singled out by coach AJ Roberts for high-praise on a successful season:
“The girls just continued to get better and better all season long. They worked hard in practice with (coach) TJ and that work rolled over into the games. They’ve set a standard now for the program going forward. I’m proud of all of them.”
– AJ Roberts
COHENEL run basketball academies for both boys and girls, which Coach TJ Burnett was keen to remind everyone, on the back end of the AoC success:
“COHENEL is well-known for the achievements of the boys program, but we are building a strong girls program here too. We welcome all girls who want to develop their skills and be part of a winning culture to join us as we have big plans for the girls academy and this season is only the beginning”
– TJ Burnett
