The London Cavaliers are a purpose-driven basketball club committed to delivering elite basketball development and competition from grassroots to the highest levels of the game.
Founded by Nhamo Shire and Vince Macaulay, the club was established following the acquisition and strategic rebrand of the former Thames Valley Cavaliers National League programme. This move brought together decades of leadership, coaching, and operational expertise under one unified vision — to create London’s most complete basketball club.
The Cavaliers now offer a fully integrated performance pathway — from U10 community teams all the way through to Senior Men’s and Women’s squads competing at the top tiers of British basketball.
We are currently the only club in London fielding teams at:
Senior Men’s Division 1 & Division 3
Senior Women’s Division 1 & Division 2
Premier and Conference youth competitions at U10, U12, U14, U16, and U18
With elite coaching, high-performance standards, and a club culture grounded in excellence, inclusion, and ambition — the Cavaliers provide a true development home for the next generation of players in the capital.
To build a world-class basketball club that empowers players from all backgrounds to achieve their potential — on and off the court — through discipline, teamwork, and the positive life skills developed through sport.
At the heart of the London Cavaliers is a commitment to:
Excellence – We strive for the highest standards in all we do
Development – We invest in growth on and off the court
Unity – We build community through basketball
Opportunity – We open doors for the next generation
