A Level 2 fully-qualified graduate of LSB's COHENEL Basketball Academy, TJ Burnett has been 'built for this' under the watchful eye of both Jay Williams and Nhamo Shire who have tabbed this young coach for major success both on and off the court.

TJ was selected to carry forward the London legacy of Kobe Bryant's inspirational 'Mamba Mentality' for the LSB, meeting the iconic LA Laker legend in 2017.  The 'Black Mamba' personally challenged TJ to accept the responsibility of teaching the next generation the values of the 'Mamba Mentality' through the LSB coaching programs. A challenge TJ has been successfully delivering on ever since, all across the city.

As a player, TJ captained the COHENEL Warriors to a 'Sweet-16' appearance in the ABL in 2018.  He followed up by leading the Warriors to an Elite 8 appearance in the ABL the following season, earning All-ABL honours in the process.

He also led the Warriors to back-to-back CBL Championships at the U18 level, leading his team in scoring average with 16ppg, while establishing himself as one of the best defensive players throughout the league.

A physically strong off-ball defender, TJ is also known for his shooting prowess, hitting 39% of his 3-point field goals in his final season in the ABL.  He also ranked in the top 10 for free-throw shooting percentage across the whole country.

TJ currently coaches across a number of LSB programs, including Hoopstars, Camps, 1-2-1 Coaching and also is also the assistant coach at COHENEL Basketball Academy.

A popular coach, particularly with the young players, TJ prides himself on preparing fun, but challenging drills, designed to build skills, knowledge and understanding of the game in developing players. This young 'Leader Of The New School' has an infectious and positive personality and is passionate about coaching the game and is well liked and respected by all of the players he coaches.
