[toggle title=”What is the London School of Basketball?” state=”close” ]The London School of Basketball (LSB) is a grassroots community basketball program that is focused on coaching the fundamental skills of the game to new and developing players while also teaching local people how to establish and grow fully sustainable community based basketball clubs for young people in their area. We are developing a network of self-sufficient clubs, through which thousands of Londoners are actively playing basketball and provide ongoing support to those clubs so they continually improve coaching standards and offer player development, competitive and non-competitive participation opportunities for young players throughout the city.[/toggle][toggle title=”What does the LSB actually do?” state=”close” ]We deliver structured coaching, both traditional and non-traditional sessions, training courses and workshops that spark interest and then support the launch and growth of local basketball clubs. Our clubs are run by and service local people, helping build skills to benefit local communities and offer inspiration and opportunities for young people. We also manage and administer regular camps, clinics, special events and competitions as natural progression outlets for all of the development work we oversee, giving young people the chance to participate and progress within the sport at their own pace and comfort level. [/toggle][toggle title=”What makes the LSB different?” state=”close” ]We love the game and are committed to teaching the fundamentals with energy, enthusiasm and technical proficiency – but the LSB is far more than coaching alone. We believe in the huge potential basketball possesses across the capital and have a support program across our activities that is designed to develop community-based grassroots infrastructure. London needs structure and organisation at the grassroots level, to provide long-term solutions for the abundance of talent we have across the city. The LSB solution is to equip Londoners with the skills they need in order to provide long-term sustainable solutions for their local neighbourhood basketball needs. Our ultimate success is rooted in the success of the local clubs we are able to help develop and support, so they are able to provide more coaching sessions, more competitions and more opportunities to the young people in their local area.
